SD State Fair Presents The Band Perry

The Band PerryThe South Dakota State Fair announces The Band Perry will perform at the Fair Grandstand on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015.

“We are thrilled to welcome The Band Perry to the South Dakota State Fair,” said State Fair manager, Peggy Besch. “Announcing this group sets the excitement level for this year’s fair.”

The Band Perry has a string of hits including “If I Die Young,” “All Your Life,” “Done,” “Don’t Let Me be Lonely” and “You Lie.” The band has climbed huge heights since releasing their debut self-titled album in 2010. Since then the band has been playing sold-out tours across the country.

They recently received a 2015 Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for their cover of Glen Campbell’s “Gentle on My Mind.” The band has also won awards from the Academy of Country Music, Country Music Association and CMT Music Awards, as well as nominations for an American Music Award and American Country Award.

Their most recent album, Pioneer, is a bold collection of country-rock hits like “Done” and “Better Dig Two.” “Playing the new songs has given our live show a new burst of energy and the crowd feels it too,” said The Band Perry.

Pre-sale on tickets will begin June 15 for backrest holders followed by Friends of the Fair ticket sales on June 18. General public ticket sales will begin June 22.

The 2015 South Dakota State Fair will run from Thursday, Sept. 3, through Monday, Sept. 7. Preview night will be Wednesday, Sept. 2. This year’s theme is “Sew it. Grow it.
