Cameron Schroder, 17, of Huron was crowned Miss South Dakota’s Outstanding Teen Saturday night. She sang “You Can’t Get a Man with a Gun” for her talent, and was the winner of the talent award as well as the top interview award and the Yellow Balloon Award for the top fundraiser for the Children’s Miracle Network. Her parents are Chad and Jennifer Schroder.
First runner-up was Amber Hulse of Hot Springs. She was the winner of Messenger Award for her work on her platform of “Bullies Beware!” and the Scholastic Achievement Award
Third runner-up was Madison Vanduch of Brookings.
Fourth runner-up was Marissa Cruse of Huron.
Nicole Bartlett of Sturgis won the Producers’ Scholarship.
Jessica Benson, Rapid City, and Karli Soyland, Sioux Falls, won Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Awards, and Benson won the Patriotic Essay Award.
Schroder will represent South Dakota at the 2015 Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageant in Orlando, Florida, July 29-August 1.
