SD Stock Dog Association to Raise Money for Make-A-Wish at State Fair

Come watch the South Dakota Stock Dog Association Finals during the State Fair in Huron and help make wishes come true for area kids! Events will take place in the Hippodrome and there is no admission fee but free-will donations will be accepted for Make-A-Wish®. They will also be auctioning off a trained stock dog and other items to benefit Make-A-Wish South Dakota!

At 5:00 p.m., the auction will begin that includes the trained stock dog as well as other items! After the auction at approximately 6:00 p.m. the Stock Dog Finals and mutton bust remix will take place. Teams of three kids will attempt to get the sheep through the same obstacles the dogs use. Registration is required and the cost is $25 per team. Visit southdakotastockdog.com for registration information.

The stock dog trials is a competitive dog sport in which herding dog breeds move sheep or cattle around a field, fences, gates, or enclosures as directed by their handlers.

Evening events are made possible by the South Dakota Stock Dog Association and their sponsors.

Make-A-Wish® grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. Make-A-Wish South Dakota granted 59 wishes statewide this past year and more than 1,163 wishes since its founding in 1984. Find out more at southdakotawish.org
