HRMC Community Hospice Hosts Valentine’s Day Fundraiser

Huron Regional Medical Center’s Community Hospice is hosting a Valentines Fundraiser with all proceeds to support hospice care in Huron.

To ensure the availability of quality hospice care into the future, HRMC Community Hospice is hosting a fudge and carnation fundraiser. The public is invited to pre-order fudge in a variety of flavors for $6 per half pound and carnations for $2 each. The fudge, provided by Country Classics in Redfield, S.D., is available in chocolate, chocolate mint, amaretto vanilla, chocolate walnut, chocolate vanilla, maple nut, chocolate peanut butter, orange vanilla and vanilla nut. Carnations, provided by Rainbow Flower Shop, are available in red, white, pink and peppermint.

Orders will be ready in time for Valentine’s Day and can be picked up on Friday, February 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in the Heartland room, which is located on the lower level of HRMC’s Central Tower (old hospital), across from the cafeteria. The deadline for orders is Monday, February 1. Order online at www.huronregional.org or call 353-6520.

HRMC Community Hospice uses a team of physicians, nurses, clergy, social workers, aides and volunteers along with the patient and family members to provide pain-management, symptom control, psycho-social support and spiritual care. In most cases, hospice care is available at little or no cost to the patient under Medicare, Medicaid, most private insurance plans, HMOs and other managed health organizations. Hospice is also available at Sunquest Healthcare and Violet Tschetter Nursing Home.
