Help at your fingertips! Through a partnership between United Way Heartland Region, City of Huron, Huron Community Foundation, and Avail Wealth Management, the Helpline Center is excited for the February 11 launch of the 211 Helpline in Beadle County. Beginning February 11, all residents in Beadle County will have access to 211 from any landline or cell phone to easily access information on resources within the community.
In addition to the 24/7 access through a phone call, the Helpline Center will also launch a 24/7 texting feature on February 11. All residents may text their zip code to the shortcode – 898211. The text message or phone call will be answered by a trained Helpline Specialist. 211 is an easy way to connect people who have simple questions or need serious help to non-profit, social service and government agencies. Anyone can use 211 to find quality information in a confidential and convenient way.
Residents no longer need to spend time looking for resources or making multiple calls to find appropriate support. Callers can call or text for information on where to find food, where to go for a government questions, or where to get help for a loved one’s addiction among many other questions and needs.
“We’re thrilled to provide 211 to all Beadle County residents.” said Janet Kittams-Lalley, President of the Helpline Center, “Whether through a phone call, text message, or an email, we encourage residents to reach out in the method most comfortable to them to connect with resources available in Beadle County.”
