Parents entering this year’s Huron Regional Medical Center Cutest Baby will notice a few new features, according to Kim Rieger, VP of marketing for HRMC.
“This is our eighth year hosting the friendly competition and we wanted to change it up a bit” said Rieger. “With the launch of HRMC’s Facebook page last fall, we thought it was perfect timing to create ways for more interaction.”
This year the contest will be hosted on Facebook and will feature daily voting and tracking. “In the past, we only allowed one vote per person,” explained Rieger. “This year, people will be able to vote once every 24 hours and the votes will be tracked real-time so parents will be able to promote their entry to keep the votes coming in.”
During the month of March, parents and grandparents are encouraged to enter a picture or short video of their precious baby. The nominee must live in the HRMC seven-county service area and be under the age of 12 months as of March 1, 2016. Therefore, the nominee must have been born between March 2, 2015 and March 31, 2016.
The prizes have also been changed up this year, according to Rieger. Winners will be chosen via a People’s Choice vote during the month of April. The top vote getter will win the grand prize of a $100 certificate to a photo studio in Huron, a basket of baby gear valued at $100, commemorative onsie and blanket and a starring role in an HRMC television commercial. The runner up will receive a basket of baby gear valued at $50.
Entries may be submitted until March 31, 2016, at 7:59 p.m. Voting opens at 8:00 p.m. on March 31. To learn more and enter, just visit HRMC’s Facebook page or www.huronregional.org/cutest-baby-contest.
